Welcome to Politics in Paradise, the Podcast! After months of planning and preparation, I am thrilled to finally share this new program with my neighbors and fellow residents. The intent behind Politics in Paradise is to offer a new platform for open and transparent conversations about Gables politics. Each episode will feature a guest that has something interesting to share, whether it’s a different outlook, perspective, or opinion about the things happening in our community.
As a viewer, there will be times when you may agree with some of the things we may discuss on Politics in Paradise, and sometimes you may disagree. But that’s the whole idea. I wanted to create a program that offered a different approach to talking about Coral Gables. Nothing is off the table, and everyone is welcome on the show. Please feel free to take part in the conversation by leaving a comment on this post, sending me a direct message here through Substack, or by joining the active and engaging Community Discussion chat that is quickly growing through WhatsApp.
With that, the first guest of Politics in Paradise is someone I think sets the standard for the unique themes of the podcast. Dipak Joshi offers an intellectual and thought-provoking approach to the current state of affairs of Coral Gables. Dipak is an active member of our community and someone I have had the fortune to get to know well over the last year. Our conversation ranged from a variety of topics and issues facing the city today, to a shared passion for the arts, culture, and institutions that call Coral Gables home. Dipak is truly a remarkable individual whose tone and poise reflect a deep admiration and love for the City Beautiful. I am grateful to Dipak for being the inaugural guest of Politics in Paradise and I hope you enjoy the show!
