Is being #1 on Maria’s list a confirmation that we are doing something right and disruptive of their plans to turn Gables into a permanent home for a Banana Republic? If so, then I’m proud our collective efforts has dismantled the number of bananas-in-charge by one so far with 2 powerless bananas left

Don't look now, Castro is sending emails saying the Mayor is going after her permit expediting company. Oh woops, I mean 'Expedited Permit Review Program'. She's also claiming she voluntarily left her permit expediting company which we all know is BS since she waited for an independent commission to look into it and then asked for them to look again.

I was at the May 6 meeting. It was great, respect above all. Smooth meeting.

Lets see what Melissa and Ariel have up their sleeves in the coming future, they will NEVER give up their turmoil, aggressiveness towards the Mayor. They will do whatever just to hurt him.

We had the worst 2 horrible 2 years with KFC. Lets see what AC come up with now, and of course MRS. Maria Cruz, aka Purita Calzon....

This is very simple: Recall Ariel he is the agitator! We cannot allow him to simply term out..he must be thrown out like garbage..fuera! Otherwise, we will still have a cancerous commissioner. Who here agrees?

In a matter of two years, Fernandez has not made any substantive contributions to our community. Saying he hears us now, when we have been loud and clear on all issues, is inherently offensive to the residents who re-elected Anderson and Lago, and elected Lara. It is an attempt at establishing a political lifeline for himself. The silent majority has spoken, they will speak again (and soon). In the meantime, keep making your voices heard!

Efficient, dignified, competent—everything I never asked for in local government. Are the golden days when commission meetings felt like a mashup of Real Housewives, Judge Judy, and an amateur improv class run by conspiracy theorists now gone? Say what you will about the KFC regime, but at least they gave us fireworks, melodrama, and the occasional existential crisis. Watching them govern was like rubbernecking a car crash you couldn’t look away from—horrifying, yes, but undeniably captivating.

Now? We get boring things like decorum, policy, and adult behavior. Yawn.

No more Ariel rage-strokes mid-agenda, no more Dr. Castro weaponizing incoherence with surgical precision, no more Cruzchev channeling the spirit of Khrushchev (shoe optional) to berate the very idea of order. I will almost miss the eye-rolls, the dramatic exits, the budget-busting raises defended with the passion of someone protecting their last bottle of Xanax. It was chaos, but it was our chaos.

So yes, bravo to the ALL coalition for restoring sanity. But forgive me if I occasionally find myself wistfully longing for just one more volcanic eruption, one last histrionic tantrum, or another evening similar to Rip Holmes decoding hurricane-lizard conspiracies. Order is great. But chaos? Chaos had flair.

I remember when an employee was fired for looking over Maria’s shoulder. I remember the act being compared to communist Cuba
